The Angel, Highgate High Street.

When you first walk into this pub you are struck with the décor, a mismatch of ornaments, local artists work, kooky fittings and general eclectic bits and bobs, rather busy but very interesting. Don’t let that put you off because this boozer is a little diamond. The drinks range is huge and includes a strawberry beer – which was sampled and enjoyed by both my friend and I.



A varied menu was available and the food was simple, wholesome, hearty and great value. I opted for the Cumberland sausage with spring onion mash and red onion gravy, a run of the mill pub meal usually but not at this place where they made it rather special. The order arrived quickly and was spot on, the meal was perfect and quite a generous amount . My friend went for one of the burger variations and was greatly impressed. For both meals and 2 drinks we came away with change from a £20 note, now how many times have you done that recently?



Overall, the staff, quality of food and general atmosphere in this pub was superb and I definitely will be visiting again.
