I have discovered a fabulous restaurant on the Archway 'Island' (just opposite the Archway tavern) called Spaghi.
Excellent food, friendly service and the espresso martini's are to die for.
It has only been open a few weeks so it is still quiet but definitely worth a shot.

I will second the espresso martinis. Also, the regular martinis, the bartender sure knows his stuff.
Went there in a group of ten, they let us take over the cozy - but excellent - rear yard. The service was friendly and prompt and they accommodated our requests for deviations from the menu. We had three Italians in the party and all gave it thumbs up - the cocktails may have helped! -
Spaghi is a real find. We came across it a few months ago and now it’s rare that a week goes by that we don' visit at least once in the week for dinner or Sunday brunch. The menu is changed regularly, dependent on what fresh fish and produce they pick up from Billingsgate and Smithfield that morning so we never get bored and it is such good value. On the cocktail front, I would thoroughly recommend the watermelon Martini - delicious.

I'm with you Mike...my girlfriend and i just popped into SPAGHI to take advantage of their 2 for 1 deal on Pizza's and Pasta. The pizza's were hand made, thin-crust and divine! Really nice candle-lit ambience, good service and only cost 13 quid for dinner for two and drinks! This place deserves our support!
